Matching pair of Vintage Explosion-Proof Aluminium Bulkhead Lamps – Brass Glands & French InscriptionThis pair of industrial bulkhead lamps was salvaged during the decommissioning of a historic transshipment and storage company located on the quayside.Due to their location near the waterfront, these fixtures were specifically selected for their corrosion-resistant materials. They are made of cast aluminium with integrated cooling fins on the reverse side.Furhtermore solid brass heavy-duty cable glands and thick industrial glass domes.There are factory-cast French safety text on the front rims: "DANGER D'OUVERTURE SOUS TENSION" (Danger: Do not open while energized), "VISITE", and "PROTECTION"The lamps are designed for practical maintenance. The internal light bulb can be accessed and replaced by loosening the external steel closure screws, after which the main housing hinges open.Both fixtures are structurally sound and intact. The thick glass domes are free of cracks or deep chips, but have scratches and paint on them. The original turquoise-green factory paint shows age-related wear and peeling, particularly on one of the lamps, as detailed in the photographs. The units are currently unwired and retain their original internal fittings, making them suitable for conversion to modern LED standards.An authentic, matching pair of waterfront industrial heritage lights, ready to become unique eye-catchers for any high-end interior.
