This handmade, door/window hanging is from the the western part of India, Gujarat - completely hand embroidered with traditional tribal designs (a mix of religious symbols, daily tribal life and well wishes) on cotton fabric. The tribes of Gujarat (originally nomadic tribes) have a unique way of displaying their culture and lifestyle and every day life through their textile art which is famous for the vivid colors and rich embroidery.

This piece is very special and absolute unique. The embroidery is really amazing and it is well preserved, even most of all the ( real ) tiny mirrors are still embedded. The tribal designs are very unique and tell their stories.
