Japanese Bizen Ware (Bizen-yaki) Ceramic Flower Vase (Ikebana Hanaire) with Central Flange - 29cmA powerful and architecturally striking vintage Japanese Bizen ware flower vase ( - Hanaire / Kabin), beautifully handcrafted for traditional Ikebana floral arrangements. The vase features a unique structural design composed of a tall cylindrical column bisected by a prominent horizontal wide flange or collar ring around its center. True to classic unglazed Bizen craftsmanship, the piece relies completely on natural kiln transformations for its aesthetic decoration. The coarse, iron-rich clay displays a rustic, heavily textured surface filled with natural stony inclusions. The firing process has yielded beautiful earthy variations, shifting from a rich reddish-brown terracotta tone to pale, ash-dusted sandy hues, complete with organic "yohen" (kiln-change) shading on one side. The flat, unglazed bottom shows a circular wire-cut mark (Ido-soko) and bears a faint, hand-stamped potter's seal mark near the lower edge.Standing at nearly 30 cm tall with a solid weight of over 1.1 kg, this vase provides exceptional stability and offers a raw, minimalist aesthetic that perfectly complements the rustic elegance of tea ceremony rooms or modern interior displays.- Ceramic Style: Bizen Ware (Bizen-yaki / )- Type: Ikebana Flower Vase (Hanaire)- Material: Stoneware / Pottery- Country of Origin: Japan- Dimensions: 29 cm (Height) x 14 cm (Flange Diameter) x 14 cm (Flange Depth)- Weight: 1159 g (1.16 kg)- Condition: Good vintage condition. The structural integrity is excellent, and the natural texture remains wonderfully tactile. There are minor manufacturing-inherent surface fissure lines and slight surface cracks near the joint of the central flange (visible in the detailed close-up photos), which are completely traditional and characteristic of coarse-grained unglazed wood-fired stoneware. Please review the detailed photos carefully to evaluate its rustic patina and condition.[Shipping & Customs Notice]• Shipped from Japan: Please note that this item will be dispatched directly from Japan.
