Hardback in maroon cloth covered boards with gilt decoration to the middle of the front board and gilt title to the spine. 4 page preface, contents list page, 604 pages, 11 page index. Frontispiece plate plus a further 18 full page plates, 5 double plates, and 6 illustrations within the text. Black and white illustrated plates. Light foxing and noticeable tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges and free endpapers. Previous owner's name inscription to ffep, occasional marginalia. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with visible staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Lettering remains bright and clear. In overall very good condition. 615pp, 22 x 15 cm.
