Text ContentThe text is written in Latin and features standard liturgical sections and concluding prayers of the office: Capitulum and Canticle: The text includes a short scriptural reading (Capitulum) beginning with Sicut cinnamomum et balsamum ("As cinnamon and balsam I gave a sweet odor"), followed by the Nunc Dimittis (the Canticle of Simeon: Nunc dimittis servum tuum, Domine / "Lord, now you let your servant depart in peace"). Prayers and Antiphons: It also contains concluding collects, versicles, and standard Marian or devotional antiphons, such as the Salve Regina ("Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy..."), which was commonly recited at the end of the canonical hours.Illustration ContentThe marginal woodcuts depict biblical narratives, figures, and typological scenes: Marginal Imagery: The illustrations show narrative scenes from the Old and New Testaments, including figures with architectural or landscape elements, prophets, or symbolic representations. Van Praet I, 245. – aus einem sehr seltenes Stundenbuch des Pariser Herausgebers und Verlegers Antoine Verard (um 1450-1514), der für seine reich illustrierten und auf Pergament gedruckten Werke bekannt war. Darunter vor allem Stundenbücher, die unter anderem von Karl VIII. und Ludwig XII. von Frankreich sowie Heinrich VII. von England in Auftrag gegeben wurden.Diese Ausgabe ist wohl nach der ebenso seltenen Ausgabe von 1506 gedruckt, beide in demselben Umfang und mit ähnlichem Inhalt. Die Metall- und Holzschnitte nach den Illustrationen des in Paris tätigen Graveurs und Malers Jean d’Ypres (gest. 1508) aus dem "Grandes Heures of Anne of Brittany". Oberer Rand knapp über die Darstellung beschnitten (minimaler Darstellungsverlust in den Bordüren).
