Pair of early 19th century Bronze Candlesticks with Lion’s Paw Feet A fine and characterful pair of bronze candlesticks, resting on beautifully cast lion’s paw feet. These sculptural bases, a classical motif rooted in antiquity, lend the candlesticks both elegance and visual weight. Likely of Dutch or Flemish origin, they exemplify the restrained grandeur of the period. Each candlestick is entirely cast in bronze, with a rich, dark patina that has developed over centuries. The tapered shafts and subtly flared sockets are proportioned with care, resulting in a harmonious and timeless silhouette. Their solid construction and decorative detailing suggest they once belonged to a well-appointed household or chapel.
